High Resolution Design-Cycle CFD Analysis

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Worldwide energy demands continue to rise steadily and efforts to curb global warming require the development of CO2 sequestration technologies. Consistent with Department of Energy (DOE) goals, this project will advance and accelerate the development of the Rampressor CO2 compression technology by utilizing the resources (personnel, hardware, and software) of the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF) in the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes employed by Ramgen will be ported and turned for the Cray XT systems at the OLCF. These codes willrequire significant improvements in order to make efficient use of the Cray systems by enhancing the parallel scalability.
