Energy Intensive Processes

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

Energy Intensive Processes - ORNL is supporting ITP#s R&D efforts in reducing industrial energy intensity to reduce energy consumption reduce emissions and to increase U.S. industrial competitiveness. The lab is active in ITP#s four primary focus areas of high temperature processing, industrial reactions and separations, sustainable manufacturing, and waste heat minimization and recovery. Current project areas include magnetic field processing, applications of friction stir welding to high melt temperature materials, improved materials for heat recovery in biomass fired boilers and near net shape manufacturing using low cost titanium powders.
