Adv. Matls RD&D in support of EERE Needs to Advance Clean Energy Tech.

    Project: Research

    Project Details

    Description

The development and adoption of advanced, energy-efficient, industrial technologies that utilize advanced materials can lead to significant reductions in industrial energy intensity and help achieve significant carbon reductions. Demonstrating and moving these technologies into widespread use will reduce energy consumption by industrial processes and products and enhance our national energy security, reliliency and create green jobs. Specific goals for advanced materials efforts include: Lead national effort to develop new materials for enhanced industrial energy efficiency. Support R&D of materials critical to growth in emerging energy industries and major U.S. manufacturing sectors. Promote processes to product innovative materials at competitive costs and facilitate early market entry and wide-scale use.
