Project Details
Description
Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) will participate in the Energy I-Corps Program to connect with industry leaders and get a better understanding of industrial problems related to carbon dioxide (CO2) capture. In this I-Corp Program, the team will perform interviews with stakeholders in carbon capture industries. ORNL has developed a hollow fiber membrane contactor-based process for CO2 capture and separation using a green solvent. The purpose of this project is to engage with industry stakeholders to understand the barriers that need to be overcome for potential commercialization of the hollow fiber membrane contactor system for CO2 capture using a green solvent. It will provide the team with an opportunity to develop viable market pathways for the membrane contactor technology and accelerate the commercialization of DOE National Laboratory and DOE plant and site technologies, define technology value propositions, and conduct stakeholder discovery interviews.
